Stephanie L. Apostolou is General Counsel and Secretary for Koppers, responsible for all aspects of providing legal counsel for the company. She also has responsibility for coordinating the Company’s corporate governance function and matters relating to the Board of Directors.
Stephanie joined Koppers in 2011 as Deputy Counsel and Assistant Secretary. In her current role as General Counsel, she handles a broad array of legal matters and has oversight of the day-to-day management of the Legal Department. She is responsible for management and supervision of significant litigation, claims and various compliance, warranty, environmental and regulatory matters. As the Company’s Secretary, Stephanie coordinates meetings of the Board of Directors, and generally serves as a liaison for the company’s directors, officers, and shareholders. Stephanie also directs activities related to the annual meeting of shareholders and the maintenance of key corporate documents and records. She also provides day-to-day counseling and legal advisory services to Koppers business units and corporate support functions on contracts and negotiations concerning strategic transactions.
Prior to her career at Koppers, she served as an associate in the Corporate and Securities practice group of a major national law firm, and held various finance roles with a leading financial services provider.
She is a member of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth Future Corporate Leader Board and a member of the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Western Pennsylvania.
Stephanie earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance and French from the University of Notre Dame, and a juris doctor from the University of Notre Dame Law School.
She resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
