Stickney Team Brings Hope to Local Families

April 3, 2023
Koppers employees Nora Seidman, Erick Rodriguez, Alexsandro “Alex” Ferreira, Faizan Saeed, and Jason Gillies from the Stickney, IL, facility had the unique privilege of volunteering at the Together We Cope (TWC) event where they packed donations from the Inspired Home Exhibit Show at McCormick Place Chicago. The event brought together a very culturally diverse group, with Koppers being well-represented.
Since 1982, Together We Cope (TWC) has been bridging the gap for south suburban residents in 27 communities by supplying food, shelter, clothing, and referrals, empowering them to return to self-sufficiency. With more than 200 volunteers, generous community donations of food, clothing, household goods, and groceries purchased from the Greater Chicago Food Depository, TWC serves more than 1,500 families each month.
At the show, Koppers volunteers split up into teams and headed off to various exhibit booths of vendors that graciously donated many quality products to TWC’s cause. Everyone worked tirelessly to pack and box everything from storage containers, pottery, cookware and cleaning products to furniture and fixtures. It was a long day, but all together there were over 20 pallets of stacked boxes and goods that were donated to TWC in their continued effort to help those in need.
Koppers is proud to have contributed our services to Together We Cope and looks forward to future opportunities to partner with this great organization. Way to go, Stickney team!
