Koppers Highlights Sustainability Achievements Including Notable Greenhouse Gas Reduction
Backed by a reputation for quality, consistency, and performance, our world-class research and technical support teams develop applications and solutions for business challenges today and tomorrow.
One of two major facilities in support of our global operations, the Greater Pittsburgh-based Koppers Global Technology Center (KGTC), is an applied research facility and laboratory with a highly experienced team focusing on the development of new carbon product applications, technical assistance, and comprehensive testing services.
As the global demand for specialty carbon products and services expands into emerging markets, the KGTC team is working to find effective, new carbon products and coating solutions. Additionally, the team utilizes state-of-the-art chromatography, microscopy, spectroscopy, and rheology equipment to meet all testing technical assistance needs.
Located in Griffin, Georgia, the Koppers Performance Chemicals Global Research and Development Center is committed to the development of innovative wood protection solutions including wood preservative technologies, fire retardants, and performance enhancing anti-weathering additives. Our approach to innovation starts with collaboration. We openly collaborate with our customers, universities, government research organizations, vendors and other value chain partners in pursuit of the next innovations for a sustainable use of our precious nature resource – wood.
Our team has well-diversified talents spanning from formulation chemistry, engineering science, wood science and technology to analytical science. Through R&D and innovation, we leverage our research talents and technical expertise to invent new products, solutions and processes that provide sound solutions to our customers and society, and transform the world for the better.
